‘Come to me all you who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest.’

As a carer in a community house for people with disabilities, I noticed how different it was when there was someone to talk to. When a friend stayed for a week and helped out, there was more laughter and ease in everyday tasks.

Since such company was occasional, I decided to look for professional supervision as a forum to help maintain perspective and proportion. It worked. I had more energy, more patience, became more relaxed. Discouragement and demoralization became less likely because an external person looked at situations with me. What seemed to be failure could be seen as a step towards a solution.

Jesus, you have sustained me for so long in this ministry. Thank you for giving me a companion on the way.
