Readings

Easter Saturday.
Acts 4:13-21. Psalms 117(118):1, 14-21. Mark 16:9-15.

‘Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.’ — Mark 16:9-15.

They were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive.

Jesus appeared three times to various people before he told the disciples that he was disappointed at their lack of faith for disbelieving those who saw him after he had risen.

Sometimes we find it very difficult to believe things that we have seen or heard ourselves, let alone those we hear from other people. We are often quick to dismiss at whim, overriding our natural instinct, initiative or heart-sense until it is proven unbelievable.

Maybe we need to learn to open our eyes and our hearts and to feel and see before we utter any words and before we worry about what others think. Let us think about what Jesus would want us to do.
