Acts 1:15-17, 20-26. The Lord will give him a seat with the leaders of his people – Psalm 112(113):1-8. John 15:9-17.
You will remain in my love if you keep my commandments
Remain in my love. What does it mean to remain, or abide, in Jesus’ love? There are connotations of steadfast and faithful relationship in what Jesus says about remaining in his love. It is a continuous, ever-abundant source of love in which we are immersed and surrounded, and which nurtures us and feeds us so we can go forth and live out the vision and reality of the kingdom of God.
Imagine what our communities and world would be like if we consciously remembered every day that we can be immersed in God’s love and our actions can come from that place of love, rather than from a place of fear, or carelessness, or unthinking routine, or frustration, or disappointment. How would our lives change if every day we remained in Jesus’ love alone, and nowhere else?Email this Print This Page
