Sacred Heart of Jesus
Hosea 11:1, 3-4, 8-9. You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation – Isaiah 12:2-6. Ephesians 3:8-12, 14-19. John 19:31-37.
Planted in love and built on love
A high school student, wise beyond his years, once wrote a short story about an elderly scientist. This scientist had spent his life mapping neural pathways of the most common thought processes. Finally, just after he has finished, he discovers the process that wasn’t included in his study, the most important one: love. And in a conclusion not unlike Simeon in the Temple, once the man finds the meaning of life, he peacefully breathes his last. Today’s feast is all about love. It is about the infinite and passionate love that Jesus Christ has for each one of us. It is a love that is prepared to suffer and even die for the beloved (you and me). And it is a love that wants to be known and shared and grown. As St Paul says, may we know the love of Christ, and be filled with the ‘utter fullness’ of God.Email this Print This Page
