1 Corinthians 9:16-19, 22-27. How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord, mighty God! – Ps 83(84):3-6, 12. Luke 6:39-42.
See the light of truth and justice
Luke’s Gospel today is the parable of the blind leading the blind. It is a reminder that we must not be hypocritical when we criticise our neighbour for the mere speck in their eye and fail to notice the plank in our own which is preventing us from seeing clearly, objectively, truthfully. Today, we can be easily seduced by the allurements of advertising and social media and the cornucopia of fakery that aims to dehumanise us. We become mere data points in an artificial algorithmic universe. Let us remove the planks that benight our clarity of vision so that we can again see the light of truth and justice and add our singular effort to the cause of peace and unity for the human family.
