Turn to the Lord in your need and you will live – Psalm 104(105):1-4, 6-7
‘It is enough for the disciple to be like the teacher.’

When someone inspires us to act, or challenges us to change, there may be a feeling within that we want to become more like them. We want to emulate their qualities of justice and compassion, and their courage in speaking out. So it is with Jesus.

It’s not easy to be a disciple in today’s world. But if we’re committed to our faith we want to embody what we profess and believe. We want to imitate Jesus because we find life in his name, joy in his presence, and hope in his reign.

We have a God who is with us, involved in all the details of our lives, wanting and waiting to empower us. Our God is filled with delight when we turn to him. Lord, give me the grace and the desire to follow you – to imitate you on the way to life.
