Friday 15 May 2026
Acts 18: 9-18. God is king of all the earth – Ps 46(47):2-7. John 16:20-23.
Hope remains
Today’s reading is part of a longer reading where Jesus assures the disciples that they will not be left alone and that good will come. For us today it relates to our daily life in the same way. Life will lead to moments where we experience sorrow, anger, hurt and grief. But the beauty in life is that good will always prevail – hope remains. At times what hurts us is unavoidable and beyond our doing, but that is not what we will remember. What you are promised is that all will be well, you are not alone and that the great joy of life is found in what results. Friday may be dark and seemingly devoid of hope – but Sunday is coming.
