Look deeper
Again and again in the Gospels, people in authority are shown as being stuck on protocol and outward appearance without looking at the deeper meaning. Jesus cures a man who is completely paralysed and all they can say is, ‘Why does he talk like this?’ They don’t rejoice that a man is cured; instead, they are upset that Jesus seems to be undermining authority. Do we too do this, are we so caught up in appearance that we do not see the wonder within?
