We are in God’s presence
Often the theme of our reading is to focus on our God in our lives. Today is a strong message about storing up our treasures. The one and only true treasure is salvation.
When our gaze is focused on God, our lives are filled with light and clarity. ‘Our eye is the lamp of the body.’ St Romuald, a monk in the late 900s, suggested that we put our whole world behind us. Through his writings, he encourages us to realise that above all we are in God’s presence. To completely empty ourselves and be content with the grace of God. Where is God calling our focus today? Can we empty ourselves and focus on our God, calling us to let go and let God?
