He appointed 12 to be his companions
In the Gospel today we read the account of how Jesus selected his 12 disciples. He had many followers but chose a select few to be his companions to whom he gave great authority to assist him in his mission. Meditate on this decision for a while. Jesus selected only a few out of all of his disciples to be especially close to him and gave them great power. He has chosen you. He has called you to go up into the hills and meet him. What is Jesus asking of you? How can you assist him in his work today? What power do you need to receive to do miracles in his name? Pray on these questions in a quiet place.
