St Cecilia | Day of penance
Apocalypse 10:8-11. How sweet to my taste is your promise! – Psalm 118(119):14, 24, 72, 103, 111, 131. Luke 19:45-48.
I want to hear with my heart
Lord, you were living dangerously at this stage of your life. You confronted the Temple traders then so upset the chief priests and the scribes by your teaching in the Temple that they wanted to get rid of you. But you kept turning up there every day because the common people were hungry to hear you. I too am hanging on your words when I read the Gospels. I want to hear with my heart what you are saying to me. I need your Holy Spirit to open up your words for me in my life.
