2 Kings 25:1-12. Let my tongue be silenced, if I ever forget you! – Ps 136(137):1-6. Matthew 8:1-4.
If you want, you can cure me
Jesus, as you surely knew,
to touch a leper made you unclean.
Yet he begged, and you did touch him,
and became unclean while he was cleansed.
With what great joy did he rush off
to show the priests that he was clean,
and ran to human company
and a home in which to live.
Jesus, please do touch me. Cleanse
my nagging doubt that you want
to heal me. Help me grow in trust
to meet your passionate desire.
