About Today Readings

DAY OF PENANCE.
Acts 25:13-21. John 21:15-19.
The Lord has set his throne in heaven – Psalm 102(103):1-2, 11-12, 19-20.
‘Do you love me?’

Jesus’ commission to Peter – ’Feed my lambs; feed my sheep’ – is a mandate for anyone who follows our Lord in faith. We are called to be disciples of Jesus. United with his Spirit, it is our task to show forth in word and action – by the witness of our lives – his saving presence. Care for the physical and spiritual needs of others is indispensable. We follow a Master who came ‘not to be served, but to serve (Matthew 20:28).

Lord, give me eyes to see as you see, hands that are willing to help, and a heart that is compassionate and courageous. Make me aware of your presence such that I have an unshakeable trust in the power of your grace to transform my life. May I be an instrument of your mercy, sharing your saving music with my fellow human beings.
