‘Come and stay with us’

As we slowly pick up the threads of life post Covid one of the rediscovered joys is to travel to be with family and friends. Accommodation is not usually a problem when visiting family – someone usually has a spare bed or a spare space on the floor. ‘Come and stay with us’ is the welcome refrain because a few nights of making do is a small price to pay for the joy of being together, swapping stories and reinforcing bonds. Lydia, we are told, wouldn’t take no for an answer when she asked Paul to stay. She was eager to accommodate the travellers in return for the joy of hearing Paul recount the message of Christ. Let us make room for Jesus’ message in our hearts, homes and communities.
