Judges 2:11-19. Lord, remember us, for the love you bear your people – Ps 105(106):34-37, 39-40, 43-44. Matthew 19:16-22.
If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own
Would you not love a decent man,
with high desires and faithful heart,
who navigates the straits of life,
then longs to walk the extra mile?
When Jesus called on him to sell
the lot – his farm, estate and cows –
and follow Jesus’ vagrant life,
he turned away in grief and shame.
Do you not feel for him? And if
Your daughter bet the farm on Jesus’ call
to follow him through death to life,
would you trust God will be with her?
