Trust in God’s presence

In today’s Gospel we hear the Pharisees demand a sign from Jesus. We are reminded that genuine faith is about trusting in God’s presence and power in our own lives. The theological virtue faith is about believing something even if we cannot see it.

We are challenged to believe in God’s work even when it’s not immediately visible, calling us to a more authentic faith rooted in trust and not doubt. Rather than seeking outward signs, we are invited to look within ourselves, trusting in God’s guidance in our daily lives.

This is not always easy, and yet we are reminded in the Gospel Acclamation that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Today may we also follow the example of the Seven Holy Founders of the Servite order who decided to withdraw from the city to a solitary place for prayer and direct service of God.
