Ephesians 2:1-10. The Lord made us, we belong to him – Ps 99(100). Luke 12:13-21.
Firmly grounded in faith
Our world is becoming increasingly secular, where faith is often pushed to the margins. It is our witness that reminds people of God’s presence in the world.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is reminding us that we need to be firmly grounded in faith – as that is the only thing that makes us safe. How do we continue to be firmly grounded in faith? Our clue comes from the response in the psalm: ‘The Lord made us, we belong to him.’
Those around us, will continue to see how we are living each day as people who know they are loved, guided and called by God. They will see our faith, not just by what we are storing up but how we live our lives. Let us continue to ask God to serve with sincerity of heart.
