About Today Readings

Ss Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Cc

Ezra 1:1-6. The Lord has done marvels for us – Psalm 125(126). Luke 8:16-18.

Let those who enter see the light

Lucy: Telling us to let our light be seen is pretty intimidating, Jesus. It’s all right for you – you’re perfect, but I’m scared that people will see my dark side.

Jesus: You’re right, of course, Lucy. It is scary, but that’s the whole point. When people saw through me, they recognised God, my Father and yours. When people see through you, too, they will also see God’s light shining through all the dark places of your life.

Lucy: Do you really think so, Jesus? I’d much rather travel under the radar and read the Gospel under the blankets, not be a neon sign saying, ‘I Love Jesus’. I’m like your friend, Nicodemus, who came by night.

Jesus: Well, Lucy, one day all will be revealed, anyway. But it takes only a little bit of light to change a room full of darkness, doesn’t it? Especially when it’s sunlight. Do you believe that I am the light?

Lucy: I would like to, Jesus.
