Way of the Cross
Have you ever tried to do something good only to meet opposition and resistance?
Maybe it’s a prayer group or youth ministry or some new parish initiative. It’s the sort of thing you’d expect others to support, but human nature gets in the way and there is suspicion and conflict.
Sometimes a bit of opposition is a sign that you are on the right path. My dad always says, ‘You can’t expect to walk the Way of the Cross without getting crucified a few times along the way!’
Of course, we should always pray and research and scrutinise our motives, lest we cause well-meaning harm, but when we do all of this and still feel misunderstood, it is a comfort to know that Jesus faced the same behaviour.
