Freed from fear
Fear can be debilitating. We can become so scared of what is outside that we convince ourselves that it is more logical to stay inside and be safe. But the more we stay inside the more our world shrinks. And this becomes self-defeating. It can become too easy to demonise what we have not experienced, making it harder to reach out and try something new.
The disciples would have experienced storms before but obviously this was out of the ordinary and they became fearful instead of trusting in Jesus. Today we pray to the Lord of sea, sky and wind to grant us freedom from fear.
