About Today Readings

St Justin

Judges 17, 20-25. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God – Psalm 62(63):2-6. Mark 11:27-33.

Use your most holy faith as your foundation

Sometimes it can be hard to hold onto our faith in God and in justice. Perhaps personal tragedies or world problems may suddenly overwhelm us, causing doubt and despair. The first reading today from St Jude, the patron saint of lost causes, is then the perfect antidote to such doubts. Faith is our strong foundation, and we can build on it and buttress it with prayers in the Holy Spirit. In reassuring others with doubts, we reassure ourselves. Let us pray we are not lost causes in our faith.
