Our ministry is clear

Community ministry is alive and well through Antioch, Galatia and Ephesus and beyond – such great geography of the Apostle’s ministry. Jesus was clear about what was expected of him by God, and he translated that so well to his followers that they knew what was expected of them. And then the followers of the followers, just like this person Apollos, also knew what to do in ministry. It was great that Apollos was open to learning more from women who knew Jesus’ way and was articulate enough to use scripture to refute the naysayers. Simple terminology in today’s readings leaves us in no doubt that Jesus was grateful for the faith his disciples had in him and that they knew what to do once he was not with them – it is a good thing he prepared them for this.
