About Today Readings

Hebrews 4:12-16. Your words, Lord, are spirit and life – Psalm 18(19):8-10, 15. Mark 2:13-17.

God believes in us

Today’s Gospel is a reminder that every one of us is flawed, but that our God believes in us and has hope for us. Jesus spent time with the people who were outcasts and seen as sinners. He never said anyone was beyond help or redemption. It is never the end for any of us. For us, it can be easy to write someone off because of their actions in the past, but Jesus would never do that. He always believed that someone could change. He always had hope and faith in the inherent goodness in humanity.
