Be attentive to the movements of the Holy Spirit
Despite all of the great things God has done for us, as one who ‘calls into existence things that do not exist,’ who has written salvation both upon history and upon our personal stories, it still takes great faith and courage to speak and reveal this same wonder to others. Even having experienced the personal love of God, fear can still drive us, like Peter, to deny Christ entirely when challenged by others. It can drive us, too, not to speak in moments when faith is moving us to do so. Fear can also drive us to deliver our own narrow, contrived ideas about God to others. Such moments instead call for an attentiveness to the movements of the Holy Spirit – the one to draw upon for strength and confidence over fear, to know when to speak and when to remain silent and allow God to speak through our actions.
