Acts 13:44-52. All the ends of the Earth have seen the saving power of God – Ps 97(98):1-4. John 14:7-14.

Invitation to faith

‘Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works’. (John 14:10)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus calls his disciples to faith. He asked them to believe in him and to know that the father is in him. These verses in the Gospel are inviting us to faith. But today, do we believe? Or do we believe these stories are just nice metaphors or analogies? Have we forgotten that Jesus called us to believe in the impossible? Maybe this is why we don’t see as many miracles in the modern world. Do we allow ourselves to believe?

Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. Help me to believe in your words, your miracles and your promises, so that I may do your will.
