2 Corinthians 4:7-15. Those who sow in tears, shall reap with shouts of joy – Psalm 125(126). Matthew 20:20-28.
‘Anyone who wants to be great among you must be a servant.’
Loving Father, we thank you for the community of disciples of Jesus, your Son. From James and the other apostles down to the present time you unite us in one faith, renew us in a common hope, build us into one people through love. May our lives openly show the power of Jesus’ resurrection. May we find encouragement and give it within the church, so that the Gospel may be heard and received, and grace and peace be established in our world.
We thank you for the great men and women, like James, who have been part of our Christian story.
Despite failings and doubts, they remained faithful. May we, too, serve your kingdom after the pattern of Jesus, who gave his life for the world.Email this Print This Page
