Ss Joachim & Anne
Exodus 24:3-8. Offer to God a sacrifice of praise – Ps 49(50):1-2, 5-6, 14-15. Matthew 13:24-30.
Pray for parents and grandparents
Saints Joachim and Anne remind us of the quiet, faithful work of nurturing faith in our families. Though they lived in obscurity, their love and devotion laid the foundation for Mary’s openness to God’s plan. Their story invites us to trust in God’s timing, even when answers seem delayed.
As with the wheat and weeds in Jesus’ parable, good and bad often grow side by side in our lives. It can be tempting to judge too quickly, but God’s patience teaches us to trust in his wisdom. The Israelites, too, were called to faithfulness, committing themselves to God’s covenant. True worship, as the psalm reminds us, is not just in words or rituals but in a heart that offers praise, trust, and love.
On this feast, let us pray for parents and grandparents, that they may be strong examples of faith, and for the patience to trust in God’s plan. Amen.
