Ss Cosmas and Damian
Ecclesiastes 11:9 – 12:8. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge – Ps 89(90):3-6, 12-14, 17. Luke 9:43-45.
They were afraid to ask him
How good a time we had! We saw
the Master join Moses and Elias,
came down the mountain with him,
and found a crowd amazed to see
him free a little child from demons.
In Galilee today he’s king, we thought,
and next year in Jerusalem!
But Jesus seemed preoccupied,
and spoke of being betrayed. Who
would betray him, we asked ourselves –
and surely God would not allow it!
Would you not agree?
