Keep the light burning for the coming of the Kingdom

Next month will be a month of prayer for creation. Talk of ‘not knowing the day nor the hour’ feels more dire when we consider the state of our planet, the increase in number and devastation of natural disasters, the destruction of habitable land. Not to mention war and the global pandemics that have dominated our lives this year.

How do we prepare for what’s coming amid that? How do we keep our lamps burning?

Our faith tells us we need to keep praying to God, to keep seeking to live out the Good News of Jesus, and to keep opening our hearts and lives to those who seek our aid. Let’s pray today that we might be able to do this and thus keep the light burning for the coming of the Kingdom.
