Job 42:1-3, 5-6, 12-17. Lord, let your face shine on me – Ps 118(119):66, 71, 75, 91, 125, 130. Luke 10:17-24.
I have been holding forth on matters I cannot understand
Sometimes it is hard to admit that we don’t know. To live with unknowing and mystery. These days we can come up with AI solutions to just about everything. But real wisdom only comes through experience. And the ways of God will always be beyond our human comprehension. Jesus praises God for revealing Godself to ‘mere children’ rather than the old and the clever. Can we be childlike enough to place ourselves in God’s hands, no matter how confusing or simplistic? Can we welcome the mystery, even in times of trial? Perhaps only then will we glimpse something of God’s incredible presence.
