Micah 7:14-15, 18-20. The Lord is kind and merciful – Ps 102(103):1-4, 9-12. Luke 15:1-3, 11-32.
Your brother was lost but now is found.
It’s bad enough that he made Dad sell
the farm to feed his lust for booze
and broads, and left me to sweat and toil
to save the farm and handle Dad.
And, worse still, Dad’s now lost it:
moons all day and checks the mail
and makes his room a kind of shrine
to fecklessness and treachery.
But worst of all, the bastard’s back.
Dad has killed my calf to welcome him,
and says that God would do the same.
That’s blasphemy, do you not agree?
