The Lord listens to the poor — Psalm 68(69):33-37.

‘Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.’

The seventy-two disciples came back overjoyed and confident from the mission Jesus had given them. He told them not to rejoice at their victories over devils but because their names were written in heaven. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus thanked his Father for revealing so much to simple ordinary people like the disciples. They were privileged over the prophets and kings of the Old Testament.

Are we deeply grateful for the gift of faith and the truths that Jesus has taught us at the cost of his life?
