About Today Readings

St Augustine Zhao Rong & Cc

Isaiah 6:1-8. The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty – Psalm 92(93):1-2, 5. Matthew 10:24-33.

Give me courage

As the world shakes with war, repetitive natural disasters and a drawn-out pandemic, the strength and reassurance of our most powerful God, is a comfort indeed. At first read, the words are said with a sense of urgency. ‘Do not be afraid of those who kill the body.’ I am a little afraid Lord. And again. ‘Do not be afraid; you are worth much more than any sparrows!’ Another insistent pleading. Jesus, I take you at your word, you will stand before the Father for me, and I will stand with You. But please, give me courage.
