Ascension of the Lord
Acts 1:1-11. God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord – Ps 46(47):2-3, 6-9. Hebrews 9:24-28; 10:19-23. / Ephesians 1:17-23. Luke 24:46-53.
Praise and worship
‘As he blessed them, he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy and they were continually in the temple praising God’. (Luke 24:51.)
What a sight to see! Our Lord and Saviour raised from the dead and ascended to heaven. How good is our God? Jesus’ disciples must have praised God for having witnessed these incredible events. As Christians, we are called to continue their praise and worship in our own time. God gave us his only Son Jesus Christ. Through this great gift, may our hearts be overjoyed that He has shown us the path to eternal salvation.
God, remind me how lucky I am to be a follower of Your Son. May I always praise you for all the gifts you have given me. let me rejoice in your goodness until the day I witness your glory.
