28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
2 Kings 5:14-17. The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power – Ps 97(98):1-4. 2 Timothy 2:8-13. Luke 17:11-19.
Were not all ten made clean?
Luke speaks to us of one of Jesus’ healing miracles and how, from the ten men who were healed, only one came back to thank Jesus. Can we reflect on times in our lives when we may not have felt a miracle but made a good decision, had support from a caring friend, when a stranger helped us or when our lives became calmer? Did we thank the person, the friend, the stranger, and Jesus, for their assistance in our lives?
Is it so difficult to spend those few moments to look someone in the face and say those two words, ‘thank you’, which mean so much? It is as important to reach out to offer our thanks as it is for the other to accept those words.
