Sunday 14 December 2025
3rd Sunday of Advent
Isaiah 35:1-6, 10. Lord, come and save us – Ps 145(146):6-10. James 5:7-10. Matthew 11:2-11.
Proclaim all the things God has done
Go tell them what you see. The reading today narrates Jesus’ affirmation of John the Baptist and his message to him – the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them. What joy! This message is for each of us. It is Advent – let us go out and proclaim all the things God has done. This is a ‘dance in the street’ kind of excitement. Bring joy. Offer hope. Bring peace. Proclaim the coming of Jesus: now is the season of hope.
