We are called to be the voice of hope

In Peter’s letter today, he tells his readers to ‘defend the hope that is in’ them. This is a reminder to us all that with our faith comes hope and we should not lose that, we should defend it against those who seek to pull us down. This hope is not a Pollyanna view of the world as everything is rosy and good. Instead, it is one that allows us to see the flaws, the sadness and the hard times and know that we can do better. We can be agents of change. We can give Jesus a face and a body in our world today. There is always something that can be done. Indeed, our faith calls us to be the voice of hope at these times.
