28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Isaiah 25:6-10. I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life – Psalm 22(23). Philippians 4:12-14, 19-20. Matthew 22:1-14.
I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life
Isaiah reminds the people that God will restore them, their tears will be wiped away and their needs met by God. The psalmist reminds us of God’s faithful love in the image of the shepherd. Jesus reminds us that God invites us to the feast, and that we must be open and ready to respond. Paul reminds the faithful to remember that God not only strengthens us in times of plenty and little, but that God satisfies all our needs.
When we look back on history, even our own lives, we can be assured of God’s loving presence, God’s desire to care for and nurture us, and God’s unfailing love. The reminders are there – all we need to do is look.
