Faith gives us strength
I took a long time reading and rereading today’s readings. What stands out to me is a reminder from Paul and from the Gospel that being Christlike takes work. Faith brings joy, but there are also responsibilities to God and to others that go along with that. Christians are not people who see the world as perfect; we are not ‘Shiny Happy People’. We are people who see the world as it is, and yet we have hope and faith that:
- we can make the world a better place,
- we have the strength to go on when things are hard, and
- we can understand others better and see Christ within them.
