You have shown you are trustworthy . . .

Jesus is uncompromising. In this parable he shows what he thinks of people who fail to use well their gifts and abilities.

Australia is a rich, peaceful country. Invasion only happened to our First Nations people who lost their land, spirituality and sacred sites, culture, languages and their children. In 1967, a referendum accepted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australians. In 2017, the Uluru Statement from the Heart was signed by 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait delegates. It showed that First Nations’ sovereignty comes from the ancestral tie between the land and its people. This year, a referendum asked Australians to vote to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. This elected body would make representations to Parliament and the Executive Government on issues that affect First Nations peoples. How would Jesus have wanted me to vote?
