Sunday 22 December 2024
4th Sunday of Advent
Micah 5:1-4. Lord, make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be saved – Psalm 79(80):2-3, 15-16, 18-19. Hebrews 10:5-10. Luke 1:39-44.
May we find support when needed
Lord, your mum needed support. It’s little wonder, given the circumstances of your conception. Was it a tense time for her? It’s easier for us now to speak of the ‘virgin birth’, but was it quite a different experience at the time for your mother?
Holy Spirit, help us to see when we too need help and support. Give us Mary’s humility and open us to turn to someone we trust.
