Help us to cling to you
Lord, you lived your life as the Father called you to. You listened, discerned then committed yourself to your God-given life’s mission. But here you are now dying, surrounded by jeering, mockery and abuse. Your mission had failed. But you hung on to your Father. That’s all you had left, and you clung on.
Holy Spirit, help us to cling on to you, even when the hurt does not go away. Show us how to live with the pain and to cling to you at the same time.
