Sunday 25 May 2025
6th Sunday of Easter
Acts 15:1-2, 22-29. O God, let all the nations praise you! – Ps 66(67):2-3, 5-6, 8. Apocalypse 21:10-14, 22-23. John 14:23-29.
The Holy Spirit will teach you everything
Malachy: I was moved by your words, Jesus. The disciples were anxious, and you consoled them by wishing them peace. Today we also live in a troubled world.
Jesus: Thank you, Malachy. I wish you peace, too, the kind of inner peace that is stronger than earthquakes. I am with you, too, through the Holy Spirit who will stay with you. Do you feel his presence?
Malachy: I sometimes do feel the comfort he gives, and he makes you real to us. But in such a muddled age, how can we hear the voice of the Spirit?
Jesus: There are many ways, Malachy. When you gather to reflect and pray. When the Churches meet, too, they can share their lives and be discerning. The Spirit also moves on the face of simple people who ask your help, and breathes on the face of your environment.
