1 Kings 3:5, 7-12. Lord, I love your commands – Ps 118(119):57, 72, 76-77, 127-130. Romans 8:28-30. Matthew 13:44-52.
In his joy he sells all to buy the treasure
What joy it was to dig through thorns
and find a cache of gold doubloons
and diamonds, and then to rush
and buy the field and nurse my dreams.
And what greater joy it is to know
that I am the treasure God has cached
and loves to polish and contemplate
and see me grow in value day by day.
And what still greater joy it is
to know that God will keep me
by his side to reflect his light
in the treasure house of Paradise.
