Develop strong roots

Small, everyday choices shape us. We are called to return, refocus and try again when things go off track. Faithfulness grows over time, even when life feels busy or overwhelming.

I am growing a dwarf lemon tree, but it is struggling. It tried to fruit early, so I am now encouraging it to develop strong roots before it bears fruit. In the same way, human life is not a single achievement but a steady practice of showing up and trusting that God is at work even when we struggle to stay faithful, so that our lives can bear fruit for him and others.

Like St Francis of Assisi, who was called to ‘rebuild the Church’, we are invited to help grow God’s work through small, faithful steps that matter.

Lord, help me grow in patience and diligence, so I bear good fruit.
