The Epiphany of the Lord
Isaiah 60:1-6. Lord, every nation on earth will adore you – Psalm 71(72):1-2, 7-8, 10-13. Ephesians 3:2-3, 5-6. Matthew 2:1-12.
We have seen his star in the East
That coruscating star enchanted us,
announced the birth of the King of the Jews.
We left our books to follow him
Through desert paths and storms and fears.
But in those months the star grew dim
And disappeared. Yet still we walked
And hoped to find the infant King
In Palestine. But still no sign of him.
And now the dodgy local king and priests
Have pointed us to Bethlehem.
Will you walk with us in trust
That once again the star will shine?
