14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Isaiah 66:10-14. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy – Ps 65(66):1-7, 16, 20. Galatians 6:14-18. Luke 10:1-12, 17-20.
Your names are written in heaven
What a time we had of it!
The first town cold – until we sent
a devil packing and cured a child,
and then the message got around.
They lined the roads to welcome us
and listened to us preach God’s word,
and then flocked up for cures and signs
that God is soon to rule among us.
We returned, excited at our power
to speak and cure, but Jesus smiled
and told us rather to rejoice
that we are agents of God’s love.
