The joy of God’s love

What sparks joy for you? For people like Marie Kondo, it’s about decluttering, rolling towels and categorising household items. Maybe you enjoy time outside, spending precious moments with loved ones, reading a good book, visiting art galleries, travelling to new destinations, playing a sport or instrument, volunteering, building something or fine dining. Each of these pursuits is wonderful on its own, but Jesus wants the joy that is in him to also be in us and make our joy complete. This completeness is the inner secret of those who know God personally and abide in his love. Just as Marie Kondo offers a formula for clean and organised wardrobes, God offers us the Golden Rule, the Beatitudes and Jesus as witness of what it means to remain in his love. A rule or witness is insufficient, we need to personally feel the joy that God’s love brings into our lives.
