About Today Readings

Easter Thursday

Acts 3:11-26. O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth! – Psalm 8:2, 5-9. Luke 24:35-48.

Where are we being invited to witness to God’s peace?

‘Peace be with you’. How often Jesus uses this greeting with his disciples, and with us. What would it look like if we let Jesus offer us peace in our own lives? Would we be less afraid, more trusting, more certain of God’s goodness and unconditional love for us, more joyful? Where is it that we need more peace? In our family, friendships or work relationships? In our interactions with strangers at the shops, on sporting fields, or on the roads? Where are we being invited to witness to God’s peace?

May we sit with Jesus in prayer and receive Jesus’ offer of peace within us, a peace that casts out all fear and brings us into the fullness of life.
