About Today Readings

Ephesians 1:1-10. The Lord has made known his salvation – Psalm 97(98):1-6. Luke 11:47-54.

In him we have redemption through his blood

Dear Lord, as we reflect on your words, and those of St Paul and the psalmist, we try to see a pattern. What are we being told? It seems that it all boils down to the fact that, as we are beloved of the Father, you love us and have given everything of yourself, even your death, so that we can learn how to live as the Father wants us to live.

Having been redeemed by you, it is up to us to sing a new song joyously so that our following of you is full of praise and thanks. This may sound a bit nebulous, but we can make it concrete in praying daily. May we listen to you, dear Lord, as you are our way, our truth, and our life.
